A NEW LIBRARY & AUDITORIUM

The latest addition to Selwyn is finished and the Bartlam Library and Quarry Whitehouse Auditorium is open. After 18 months of construction work, the building is finished and ready for use. The auditorium has already been used for the Ramsay Murray Lecture in early June when Professor Rana Mitter's lecture was delivered to a live audience, and live-streamed to hundreds more world-wide.
The library is open and being used for study space. The books will be transferred over the summer.
We are extremely grateful to the over 1000 individual donors who together have raised £12.6 million to fully fund the project. The building is known as the Bartlam Library and Quarry Whitehouse Auditorium in recognition of particularly generous donations.

"This is a once-in-a-generation project for Selwyn: the creation of a building that will complement our history and serve the future needs of our community. It will transform the northwest of the college - the area at the corner of Grange Road and West Road - by completing Ann's Court; and inside there will be a library fit for the 21st century and beyond, with an auditorium that will bring a lively public space into the heart of our site.
It was philanthropy that built Old Court and the Chapel and Hall; and it was benefactors who made possible Cripps Court and Ann's Court. Now we invite you to be part of the next major development for the college, which will show a lasting commitment to excellence for our students and the wider community."
