Songs of Farewell: English music for a summer's evening

by Parry, Elgar, Delius, and Vaughan Williams

St Bride’s Church, Fleet Street, London

Wednesday 11 July

 St Bride's Church

Join us for an early evening concert by the renowned Selwyn College Chapel Choir on the eve of their annual summer tour.

Christopher Wren’s magnificent St Bride’s was built in 1672. Its famous tower, said to be the inspiration for the wedding Cake, is the second tallest of all Wren’s churches, with only St Paul’s itself having a higher pinnacle.

The fine acoustic offered by the church ensures that it’s regularly used for orchestral and choral concerts throughout the year.

This evening’s programme is a perfect way to enjoy a summer evening with a delightful programme of English choral music from the early 20th century and suitable for all ages.

The concert starts at 7.00pm and runs straight through to 8.15pm with no interval.

Sponsored by a private donor, all the proceeds of the concert will help cover the costs of the young singers undertaking a weeklong tour through England and Scotland. Please give generously.

Tickets: £15.00
